Samsung Galaxy S5 is Sammy's new flagship smartphone and successor to the Galaxy S4. It is not as ground breaking as anticipated, but still comes with enough new features to entice consumers. The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a fingerprint reader for unlocking and authenticating PayPal payments. Samsung Galaxy S5 did not live up to the rumours. For starters it does not feature Iris scan, just fingerprint scan. It also did not come with eye popping resolution as earlier rumoured, just the good old 1080p HD resolution. However, the Galaxy S5 is a solid smart phone with power and possibilities.
The new fingerprint scanning feature seats under the homescreen and enables you unlock your smartphone with just a swipe of the finger. Samsung has also partnered with PayPal to enable you authentic PayPal payments just by swiping your finger. The heart rate monitor (on the phone's rear beside the camera flash) and the fitness tracking combines with the new S Health 3 app to help you track your fitness and health.

Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with KitKat (Android 4.4.2) and is powered by a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with 2.5GHz clocking speed. It comes with 2GB of RAM with option of 16GB or 32GB built-in storage. You can upgrade storage with microSD memory card up to 128GB, plus you also get 50GB of free Dropbox cloud storage.

Samsung Galaxy S5 features a slightly larger Super AMOLED display from 5.0-inch on Galaxy S4 to 5.1-inch. However, the resolution remains the same at 1920 x 1080 pixels. It also comes with the same Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a better camera with a 16 megapixels resolution camera that can record videos 4K resolution. The camera is also super fast with an autofocus time of 0.3 second. The camera also supports High Dynamic Range (HDR).

Samsung Galaxy S5 will be available from April 11, 2014. More than 100 countries will be getting the new smartphone in April. We expect Samsung Galaxy S5 in Nigeria this April. We also expect Samsung Galaxy S5 price in Nigeria to range from N108,000 to N120,000 at launch.
